Sewage Sludge Treatment and Carbonization Process
Unlike the treatment of other biomass, the treatment of sewage sludge is mainly for reduction. Before entering the machine, some pretreatment steps are usually required, such as solid-liquid separation, sieving, concentration, etc., to reduce moisture content and impurities. In addition to this, it is necessary to use a dryer when the moisture exceeds 15%. This is to improve the final carbonization efficiency.
The pretreated sludge is sent to the machine, which operates in a high-temperature and low-oxygen environment. The reaction temperature is usually between 300°C and 600°C. During this process, the organic matter undergoes a carbonization reaction, producing charcoal and some gaseous by-products.
Combustible Gas Recycling
First, the cyclone dust collector dedusts the combustible gas. Subsequently, the purified combustible gas is introduced into the auxiliary furnace as a heat source. The exhaust gas generated after utilization is again subjected to dust removal treatment through the cyclone dust collector. Finally, the exhaust gas is discharged after being purified by the exhaust gas dust collector.
Charcoal is discharged through a three-stage water-cooled discharge machine. It has a lower temperature and doesn’t cause combustion.
At the end of the process flow, further treatment of exhaust gas and wastewater may be required to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and discharge standards.
